Download for MacFree · macOS 14 Sonoma or later · Apple Silicon and Intel
The projector buttons AirPlay is missing
⌃⌥⌘F
Freeze the TV on the current picture. Press again to go live.
⌃⌥⌘B
Blank the TV to black. Press again to show it.
While the TV is held, your Mac's screen stays live, so you can find the next slide or answer a message without the room seeing. Works with screen mirroring too.
Install in a minute
- Open ProjectorHold.dmg and drag Projector Hold into Applications.
- Open Projector Hold from Applications.
- First launch only: if macOS says it can't verify the app, click Done. Then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, click Open Anyway next to “Projector Hold was blocked”, and enter your password.
- The welcome guide opens. Click Allow Screen Recording…, turn on ProjectorHold, then click Restart Projector Hold.
After that, Projector Hold lives in the menu bar as a small screen icon, with the same controls.
Private by design
No accounts, no analytics, no network access. The frozen picture stays in memory only while the TV is frozen and is never saved or sent anywhere. Projector Hold doesn't record audio.
